아주 먼 옛날 아교로(Agoro)라는 이름의 잘생긴 거인이 살았다. 그는 매일 밤 모두가 잠든 사이 자신이 좋아하는 장소에 나와 생각에 잠기곤 했다. 그러던 어느 날 이 동네에 사는 아름다운 여인, 알루이아(Aluya)를 보고 사랑에 빠지게 되었다. 그러나 그녀는 아버지가 정해준 남자와 결혼할 것이라는 소문이 돌기 시작했고, 아고로는 알루이아를 자신의 동굴로 납치하게 된다. 거인을 본 알루이아는 깜짝 놀라 식음을 전폐하고 눈물로 하루하루를 보내다 죽고 말았다.

CHOCOLATE HILLS NATIONAL GEOLOGICAL MONUMENT
200만 년 전, 바닷속 땅이 지면 위로 융기하면서 상대적으로 연약한 산호층이 부식되어 지금의 형상을 띠게 되었다. 30~50m 높이에 1268개의 언덕은
우기에는 초원으로 덮여 있다가 건기에는 갈색으로 변해 버리는데, 그 모습이 마치 키세스 초콜릿 같다고 하여 초콜릿 힐이라는 이름이 붙게 되었다.
관광객들에게 개방된 초콜릿 힐은 정상까지 214개의 계단이 놓여 있는데, 이 역시 초콜릿과 밀접한 관련이 있는 밸런타인데이(2월 14일)를 염두에 둔 것이다.(출처 : 네이버)
