필 리핀 보홀 섬(Bohol Island) 다우 이스(Dauis)에 있는 성당으로, 2009년 필리핀 국립역사 명소(National Historical Landmark)로 지정되었다.
성모 승천 성당(Our Lady of the Assumption Church)이라고도 불리며, 비잔틴 양식(Byzantine style)과 로마네스크 양식(Romanesque style)이 혼합된 건축 양식을 나타낸다. 보홀 지역에서 가장 아름다운 성당 중 하나로 꼽힌다.
1697년 예수회의 신부 디에고 아야타(Diego Ayata)와 조셉 그레고리오(Joseph Gregorio)가 주도하여 최초의 성당을 지었다. 1753년 지금의 위치로 옮겨 본당과 수도원을 건립하였으나, 화재 등으로 수차례 소실되었다. 현재의 성당은 5번째 재건축된 건물로, 1863년 훌리오 살다나(Julio Saldana) 신부의 감독 하에 준공되었고, 1879년 완공하였다. 1층 정면 상단에 훌리오 살다나의 이름과 완공 날짜가 기록되어 있다. 2층은 1920년대 초에 증축되었다. 성당 안 중앙 제단에 성모 승천 그림이 있으며, 그 위로 아기 예수 그림을 두었다. 천장에는 레이 프란시아(Ray Francia)가 그린 프레스코화들이 남아 있다.
1774년에 세워진 4층 규모의 종탑은 보홀 지역에서 두 번째로 오랜 역사를 지니며, 날카로운 창의 형상을 하고 있는 것이 특징이다. 또한 수도원 건물은 'L'자 형태로 지어졌으며, 산호석을 주재료로 사용하였다.
전설에 따르면, 다우이스 마을이 해적에게 침략을 받았을 때 주민들이 성당 안으로 들어와 문을 닫고 피했더니 이곳에 물과 음식이 떨어졌다고 한다. 또한 제단 주변에서 우물이 발견되어 주민들이 무사히 위기를 벗어날 수 있었다고 한다. 이 우물은 현재도 사용되고 있으며, 매년 이를 기리는 축제가 열린다. 2009년 국립역사 명소로 지정되었다.

Also called Our Lady of the Assumption Church, it represents a mixture of Byzantine and Romanesque styles. It is considered one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the Bohol region.
The first cathedral was built in 1697 by Jesuit priests Diego Ayata and Joseph Gregorio. In 1753, it was moved to its current location and a parish and a monastery were built, but it was destroyed several times by fire. The current cathedral is the fifth reconstructed building, completed in 1863 under the supervision of Father Julio Saldana and completed in 1879. The name of Julio Saldana and the date of completion are written on the upper part of the facade on the first floor. The second floor was added in the early 1920s. There is a picture of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary on the central altar in the cathedral, and a picture of the baby Jesus is placed above it. There are frescoes painted by Ray Francia on the ceiling.
Built in 1774, the four-story bell tower has the second longest history in the Bohol region and is characterized by its shape of a sharp spear. In addition, the monastery building was built in an 'L' shape, and coral stone was used as the main material.
According to legend, when the town of Dauis was invaded by pirates, the residents went inside the cathedral and closed the door to escape, leaving the place without water and food. It is also said that a well was found near the altar and the residents were able to escape the crisis safely. This well is still in use, and a festival is held every year to honor it. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2009.

The weather in Bohol, Philippines is fickle.
날씨는 맑았다가도 갑자기 비가 온다. 밤이면 거의 어김없이 비가 내린다.
The weather is sunny, but suddenly it rains. It almost always rains at night.
비가 저녁에 내리면 엄청나게 내린다. 밖에 나가서 놀 수도 없다.

그래도 계속해서 오는 건 아니라 여행을 하는데 큰 무리는 없다.
